It’s that time of year that people in the personal development industry are supposed to encourage you to set your New Year’s Resolutions to:
- Lose Weight
- Quit Smoking
- Learn How To Reduce Stress
- Etc. Etc. Etc.
But frankly, I’m not going to do that.
Why? Because of statistics.
Did you know that about 50% of American’s set New Year’s Resolutions but only about 8% of them actually stick to them? Here’s my opinion on that… If you really want to transform your life- then just decide to and don’t tell anyone about it. (Or if you do- only tell those that you are certain will support you 1000%) Why not tell people about it? Because like it or not, others either don’t feel comfortable with you changing (even if it’s good for you) and or they don’t believe enough in themselves to believe that you can do it. And you know what? Setting goals aren’t all they’re cracked up to be either!
If you really want to transform your life, it’s about learning to just become better- every moment- and taking things one step at a time. That’s how you sustain true transformation. But please… Don’t set “Resolutions” unless you are certain you are of the 8% that doesn’t just set resolutions, they truly decide to change their life!
And if you’re not ready to truly change your life- that’s OK, because you can still take this moment to improve it, even just a little.
Maybe improving your life- just a little- is something as simple as taking a deep breath in now…

If you did even just those simple 3 deep breaths just now, then you’re ahead of the game, because even though it was something incredibly simple, you just improved your life- a little. And if you didn’t take those breaths, then of course you know it’s not to late to do them now…
So again, even if you’re not one of those 8%, then I encourage you to still take small steps- that over time will make big changes in your life.
